How It All Started
The Poland Equal Rights Association began with a small group of committed activists and advocates in 2023 who saw a growing need for an organization dedicated to equal rights in Poland. Recognizing the challenges faced by many due to discrimination based on gender, nationality, and other identities, they came together with a shared vision: to build a society rooted in justice, empathy, and respect for all.
From these early conversations, the association took shape with a clear mission to advocate for equality across all sectors of life. Warsaw became our home base, where we began to connect with local and international groups who shared similar goals. By forming partnerships, we realized we could amplify our impact, pushing for lasting, positive change through collaboration, education, and community engagement.
Today, the Poland Equal Rights Association stands as a voice for those advocating for a more inclusive and fair society. While we’ve grown from those early days, our commitment remains the same: to foster a Poland where equal rights are not only protected but embraced in every community.
Activities of the Association
Workshops on Gender Equality:
Our association regularly conducts workshops addressing gender equality, covering topics such as women's rights, gender stereotypes, and the importance of equal opportunities in education and the workplace. These workshops are open to the public and aim to raise awareness and foster discussions on gender-related issues.
International Women's Day Celebrations:
Every year, our association organizes special events and awareness campaigns in celebration of International Women's Day (March 8) . These activities include panel discussions, film screenings, and art exhibitions to highlight the achievements of women, address gender inequalities, and promote solidarity.
Anti-Discrimination Campaigns:
Our association runs anti-discrimination campaigns targeting various forms of discrimination, including those based on nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability. These campaigns utilize social media, posters, and ccommunity outreach to educate the public and advocate for inclusive policies.
International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination:
On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (21 March), the association organizes events focused on combating racial discrimination. These include panel discussions, cultural exchanges, and collaborations with local communities to promote unity and understanding.
Accessible Events for Persons with Disabilities:
The association ensures that its events and activities are accessible to individuals with disabilities. This commitment includes providing sign language interpreters, wheelchair accessibility, and other accommodations to ensure the full participation of everyone in the community.
Online Campaigns for Inclusivity:
Leveraging the power of online platforms, our association runs digital campaigns promoting inclusivity and equal rights. This includes sharing stories of individuals who have overcome discrimination, highlighting role models, and encouraging online discussions on pertinent issues.
ACTIVITIES and EXPERIENCE RELEVANT TO ERASMUS+
Training and Capacity Building:
The Poland Equal Rights Association actively engages in training programs related to Erasmus+. Organizaiton’s members have undergone training sessions to familiarize themselves with the Erasmus+ framework, project management, and the values of inclusivity and diversity promoted by the program.
Member Participation in Erasmus Projects:
Organization’s individual members have participated in different Erasmus initiatives. This direct involvement has provided valuable insights and practical experience, allowing the organization to draw on the firsthand knowledge of its members who have engaged in projects related to equal rights, diversity, and social inclusion.
Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns:
The association conducts advocacy campaigns and awareness programs aligned with the principles of Erasmus, focusing on promoting equal rights, combating discrimination, and fostering inclusivity. These activities contribute to the broader goals of Erasmus+ in building a more tolerant and interconnected European community.
International Collaboration in Equality Initiatives:
The Poland Equal Rights Association collaborates internationally on projects that align with Erasmus+ objectives. These collaborations involve working with European partners on equality initiatives, sharing best practices, and contributing to the exchange of ideas on social inclusion and diversity.
